Start: 12:00 p.m. July 13th Grenoble train station. Meet your guides at the station’s information kiosk. 1 hour transfer to Alpe d’Huez.
Finish: 11:00 a.m. July 15th with transfer/drop back to Grenoble train station.

DAY 1

July 13: Meet your guides at the Grenoble train station. Following brief introductions, 1-1.5 hour van transfer to the village of Oz. Following check in, the group will break into riders and non-riders. RIDERS will strike out for one of France’s most scenic loop rides to conquer infamous Col de Croix de Fer (34.5 miles / 55.6 kms). As you ride by mountain lakes, wild forests, and endless sheep herds, you might feel like you’re riding in Scotland. After a photo at the summit, loop back to the chalet for pre-dinner drinks/wine tasting. NON-RIDERS enjoy a guided two-hour hike around the scenic village of Oz…yes Oz! French guide and long-time friend of Spyns Alain will expertly guide you through the lush fields at the base of Alpe d’Huez. ALL pre-dinner drinks and wine tasting before delectable meal, expertly prepared by chef Gil. The perfect day.

DAY 2

STAGE 12 FINISH ALPE D’HUEZ. RIDERS morning departure for a guided sunrise ride along the river valley and then up the 21 switchbacks that are infamous Alpe d’Huez. Once you arrive at our private viewing area, shower, change, and then enjoy the race finish in style. NON-RIDERS enjoy a late morning cooking class with chef Gil. Learn some new tricks from an expert. Then your guides will shuttle you up to Oz (15 mins) where you’ll take two (2) lifts (thereby completely avoiding all traffic) to the centre of Alpe d’Huez to enjoy the exciting stage 12 finish. ALL Once in Alpe d’Huez riders and non-riders will experience Spyns’ VIP viewing area complete with DJ, buffet, open bar, and live English Tour coverage. You’ll have an unbeatable views of the race and endless opportunities to take action shots of your favourite riders. Following the stage, several options: riders can ride back down to the chalet via our secret route; take the lifts back down, or join French mountain guide Alain for a guided hike back down the mountain. Once back at the chalet, the group will enjoy another excellent dinner prepared by chef Gil.

DAY 3

Departure day! One more delectable breakfast (don’t even bother counting the calories) before morning shuttle back to Grenoble. The perfect holiday!
